Sorry I forgot a few things on the Eczema. Your mother should not bathe with any type of soap that has perfumes or dyes. I was told to use Dove but very sparingly until my skin gets better. Her baths should be limited to less than 15 minutes in coolwater, never hot. Unfortunately, water dehydrates the skin. The key is to keep her skin moist. My doctor advised me to use plain Vaseline Petroleum Jelly as my skin moisturizer. It's kind of sticky but I can really tell the difference. At least I can stand having it on my skin. She should also keep in mind that Air Conditioners dry the skin. I wash my clothes in Dreft Baby Detergent. She needs to use the mildest soap on her clothes. Wearing majority cotton clothing will also help. Cotton is the softest fiber. Even sleeping on cotton sheets will help. And stay out of the sun. I hope this helps her and gets her some relief. Good Luck!!!
: I use "Castellini's Paint" (get the purple colored instead of clear because it is better) to stop the itch. It also closes some of the open sores that occur with Exema. I also use a cream during the day called "lidex" generic: fluocinonide .05% . This works well as long as you use it twice a day.

: : : : : My Mom has been diagnosed with exema, and it's driving her crazy, especially the itching.
: : : : : doctor gave her some cream and some type of spray.
: : : : : anyone have any ideas on what to use for the itching? The stuff the doctor gave her is not working real well.
: : : : : The rash keeps reappearing in other places on her body. Where does it come from?what is the cause.
: : : : : thanks for the response

: : : : She should tell the doc that the cream is not helping. there are several on the market.
: : : : I do know benedryl helps with iching. There is a generic over the counter pill to take. It can make you sleepy! You can break it in half. But, call the doc.....see if there is another cream she can try.....sometimes if your doc has them....ask for a sample! Then you do not have to spend $ on something that does not work :)
: : : : Good luck
