: I'm a 50 year old female and have had palpitations for most of my adult life...they seem to come for a while and then go for a while. I have recently learned that food allergies can cause them. It may help you to keep a food diary...EVERYTHING you eat should be written down and when you experience palps, make a note of it. Over time you may see a pattern emerging and may figure out what is giving you the palps if they are, indeed food induced. With me, oatmeal, believe it or not, is one of the things that triggers palpitations. Sweet potatoes are another. And, of course, caffeine. Also, just eating too much volume seems to do it due to the vagus nerve being stimulated when the stomach is distended.
: Doctors tell me palps are not dangerous, but they sure are hard to ignore, so I sympathize with ya.
: The best to you!
