I am 29 years married and have 3 children. Just recently, my husband and I have discovered that our eldest daughter who is only 11 1/2 years old, has Factor V Leiden. The official title of her disorder is being called Factor V, but they (the doctors) refer to it as Deep Venous Thrombosis. We are told that her case is such that her father and I have both contributed to her condition. She has both bad chromosomes.
We have had our other 2 children tested and fortunately, they are both tested as having normal levels. I am currently carrying my 4th child and will have to take precautions now and have him tested when he is born.
