Well, I lasted a week at their game, and all I have to say to it is....GOOD LUCK!
They paint a pretty picture of all the money and promotions during training. They said I could expect to make in the range of $175-$200 during my first week of training...WRONG!!! On my first day of training they sit you down and tell you all the wonderful things to expect, then they give you several bottles of cologne(in our classes case..8 bottle)then they tell you to go to your friends and family to hock this stuff..thats because only family and friends will buy it to support you in your attempt to better yourselves..Believe me..that is the most bottles, if any that you will sell. They told us we would be making $10 per bottle, and the person to sell the most bottles would make a little extra money through a compettion that they were doing...
That was day 1.
On day 2, they actually send you out to sell with one of the other trainees..whom just that Saturday before was in the same place you were in..Talk about poor training..If you got any at all. Two of our people were sent out to sell by themselves..no trainer..
We were told to sell the bottles, not for $27.00, which is the only way you were going to make any money. But for $20.00, that's because a total stranger isn't going to buy from a total stranger off the streets and think its legit..I was even accused of being an Undercover Cop trying to bust people for buying this stuff. So $20.00 it was..I sold a whopping 1(one) bottle of cologne.
During this day, I and my partner, another trainee, was told by our trainer that each day we were expected to share in the gas money for the transportation. Ok.
At the end of this day we were allowed to take bottles home with us to sell more..If we could.
On day 3, we were told to sell as many bottles as possible, and were given a quota. To do this we were to drop the price of the bottles to sell multiple bottles to the same person, of course there HAS to be a discount in price..OOPS, there went your gas money. Now you went from selling there product at a profit of $10.00, now your making a total of, hopefully, $3.00, if you sold 2(two)bottles to a person.
By Friday, you were sent out to sell outside the local area. Myself and my partners went 200 miles, out of the way to a city that normally doesn't receive our product,(which after hearing others, they traveled about the same distance).
We were told this was Payday (payday isn't Our payday, its the payday of the buyers), most people receive their payroll on Friday's. I sold 4(four) bottles of cologne that day. We were told not to come back from our area till we all sold our quota for the day..They even told us, "If it takes all night, then stay all night." We got back from Fort Smith,Arkansas at 5am Saturday morning (this to wasn't unusual, others got back in the wee hours of the morning..most did).
With only a bath under my belt and no sleep, on Saturday, we were all promoted to the next level. We at the end of the promotions, were told to go out and hustle again. Everyone was so tired from the past night, no one sold anything. BOY WERE THE OWNERS MAD!!!! They were so upset with us they began to call us all names..and not polite ones..
During my venture with this company, I learned some interesting things..
The only ones making money are the Regional Managers, they receive $5.00 each off each bottle you sell..you only make $3.00. Also, the Branch mangagers make money off each bottle you sell. This is how they make money to stock their new offices with computer equipment, fax machines, and pay the rent for the first month.
While talking with the other trainees who were higher in rank than myself, NONE of them made or make anywhere close to the amount per week that was promised.
I ended up making less than what they promised. I ended up making a deficit in profit. There started out with 20 people in my class of new trainees, by that Saturday, there were 8...
AND THAT WAS THE FIRST WEEK...
