Well, I wanted to thank all of you for putting up these kinds of messages. I'm supposed to start my "training program" on Monday, and thanks to you guys I'm not going to go. I just moved to Miami from Orlando like a week ago. I needed a job so I was looking at the ads in the newspaper and found the one for Scentura Creations; they just said that they were expanding and needed people for manager positions to open up their new offices. I went to the first interview; it was very unproffessional, they had this loud music on and the office looked very poor, they told us that they had just moved in so the office was not fully furnished yet. Well, they gave me a piece of paper with a # on it and wanted me to call them back to ask about "my application status." I didn't have a good feeling about the place but I called anyway. They acted all hyper to tell me that I had gotten a second interview where I was going to meet the president and that they were going to be doing all the hiring so to "dress sharp." I decided to go, but when I got there the office was full; there was probably like 30 to 40 people in there; I was about to walk out of there when they said to come into the conference room. The so called "president" was cursing throughout the whole group interview. At the end she asked a group of people to go with one guy, another group to go with somebody else and then my group stayed in the room with her. She then told us that we were hired, that we were going to start on Monday and that the training was paid that all we had to do was work hard to earn from $200 to $400 cash on Saturdays. I was very excited and pretty much believed all she talked about. She said that we were going to open our own office and that we could either sign a contract for 30K a year or do POA(piece of action) which meant that from the perfume cost: $27, 7 was the salesman's comission, $10 was for the cost of making the perfume, and the other $10 was for you to take home. I figured if I was going to have at least 15 salespeople in my office with one perfume each of them sold that was $150 I could make in a day. I got pretty happy about that. I go to college, I'm getting my bachelor's in Business Administration so I figured it'd be a great opportunity for me and then I want to go on to law school so I figured if I made enough money I would even be able to pay for that too without having to ask for a lot of loans from the government. Well, I came home for the weekend and I told my parents; they said to be careful but weren't too worried about it. I spoke to my uncle and he was the one that actually opened my eyes; he told me not to be stupid that these people lived off of that and that they would promise to pay me but never really would. I got pretty pissed about it because my uncle is the kind of person that thinks that only what he does is right and that nothing that anybody else might do is ever going to be really good. However, I decided to go online to check the company out because I really didn't want to waste my time with some bullshit company. Now, I'm so thankful I did because I won't turn down any real job offers for this piece of shit job. I feel like going in on Monday to tell all the people that are planning on going not to do it because is a scam, but I don't know if I should. I really appreciate all the stories you have put up; thank you; you've saved me a lot of money. Good luck catching these people. The office I went to is located in Kendall; their phone number is (305)815-5830.
Take care and please if you are in this get the hell out while you can.
