Two or Three
-- by L. B. Strawn - Copyright 1999 -- l.b.strawn@juno.com

You have lived in two centuries
For your age is now 100 years,
So all of your friends and neighbors
Will raise some mighty cheers.

Being born January 6, 1900
And 2000 is now the year---
So, as we yell and raise our voices
You might need to cover your ear

But since this century doesn’t really end
Until December of this year,
In January of the year 2001
Would truly be the time to cheer.

For that would mean instead of two
You would have lived in three.
So we wish you health and happiness--
To make it, that’s the key.
