Love A La Carte
-- by John T. Baker - Copyright 2000 -- JTB8817@aol.com

There are all kinds of love on the Menu of Life
As this world of ours spins ever faster;
There's the radiant love of an innocent child
And the love of a dog for its master.

There's the pulsating love of a lad for a lass
All the while he's beguiled by her beauty;
There's the love of a man for his home and his land
As he steps to the call of his duty.

There's the unspoken love between father and son
And the infinite love of a mother;
But there's none can compare with the undying love
Of one happy drunk for another.
