Angels
-- by R. Wayne Porter -- Copyright 1996 -- rebel1@jps.net

Angels fly on glossamer wings
as least I've heard it said.
But I've never wakened to suddenly find
an angel beside my bed.

I've enjoyed life's peaks and seen many valleys
and there's times I've made a mistake.
But don't really know if one walks beside me
to help in the choices I make.

I made my decisions and faced uncertain outcomes
some results had no reason or rhyme.
How do I know if my burdens are lightened
is each choice that I make really mine.

Is there actually someone to help and assist me
and make things better in life.
If true, all talk about angels, their caring and kindness,
must mean that wonderful angel, - my wife.
