At what? You Wonder is This About
-- by Barrie O'Neill - Copyright 1996 boneill@lakeshore.mb.ca

At what? you wonder, is this about, something inside to tell about.
From the very start, the concrete lay, the lights at night, hold darkness at bay.

Does one know, throughout life, that this could be the beginning of strife.
No, the pace is fast, to quick to allow, a glimpse, a hint of another life.

One works in stream, as hard as another, good fortune here allows a glance!
To one, a glimpse of many things, a future chance,
It is taken, the tension builds, the move is made. And life is found.
Far from the pace that concrete builds and light abounds.

What is that sound ? It is so strange, no sound, but loud and strong.
And in the background, a song is heard, not one but hundreds,
soft as feathers in flight, surely angel wings.
The howl at night so soft and warm shows God is here,
and there
and everywhere, in this, a future chance.
Reverse the start my friend, the chance, once taken, is worth that glance.
