A World Alive
-- by Chuck Pool - Copyright 1999 -- CPool71148@aol.com

Each of all our senses five
Create for us a world alive
The splendor of the things we see
Enhanced by its diversity
The sounds of life in nature’s song
The smells, the taste, to which belong
The touch of it upon our soul
The breath of nature to extol

But all too often we can’t find
The path from senses to the mind
The daily things we seem to miss
The subtleties of nature’s kiss

Yet there around us to behold
The mysteries of life unfold
The elegance and beauty of
Expressed to us by nature’s love
It’s there if we want to possess
The stroke of nature’s sweet caress
And each of all our senses five
Can now for us become alive
