The Big Frog That Wasn't
-- by Bonnie Duckworth Copyright 1998 -- bonniej@gte.net

We discovered tiny green frogs around our pond that croaked so loud, I thought they were big frogs or toads. I was amazed at the volume of their tiny vocal chords.

There were big frogs in my yard.
I looked for them very hard.
when I got near,
no sound could hear,
there croaking was suddenly barred.

T'was musical sounds to my ear,
melodies soothing to hear,
full of harmony,
like a symphony,
bringing God's nature very near.

Croaking loud just like a big toad,
I found searching along the road.
His voice was strong,
and croaked so long,
Someday I'd find they're abode.

While watching my fish in the pond,
I happened to look just beyond.
A tiny green frog,
sat upon a log,
croaking LOUDLY, he did abscond.
