Gifts That Bloom
-- by Bonnie J. Duckworth - Copyright 1999 -- earthquacks@msn.com

Ahhh, yes, the glorying
in the splendor of vibrant
flower displays.
Seeds springing forth
overwhelm our senses
with their glorious arrays.

Self inhaling, intoxicating
perfumes of you and I.
Poets brush forget-me-nots,
the renderings of the why.

Oh, despairing Daliahs,
snipping flowers
enhances your bloom.
Such dazzling displays
of dinner plate blossoms
erupting from your gloom.

Bleeding hearts, you are
so lasting, your flower
so divine.
Would that I could cleave
to life with a special
purpose align.

Ever hoping to display
a lasting beauty
like you,
spreading my blossoms
abundantly, faithful
and true.

Springing forth from seedlings
each spring you
still recall,
the beautiful, delicate hearts
and then, bloom
for us all.
