In faded flimsy folders
I store my memories
And take them out sometimes to see
Which ones may yet still please.

I gaze at them and wonder
If these are truly mine,
Those fragrant blooms of yesteryear
Now withered on the vine.

I put away the folders,
Content to let them be,
And find it now more comforting
To bury memory.
