Butterfly Stream
-- by Ellen Fair Copyright 1997 -- fairelle@gte.net

We will go to the stream
The place of our dreams
And dance with blue butterflies
As you hold me once more
On the silver-white shore
Tears misting your gentle blue eyes

In the brisk summer air
I envision you there
Where once we danced into night
This palace of dreams
Our eternal love theme
White doves symbolizing desire

Your hand beckons me
In your eyes I can see
The love that once mastered my soul
Under the moon's fair light
Beauteous sight
For a moment, once again I am whole

As the warm breezes blow
I know you must go
And I whisper goodbye to my dream
But I'll see you again
In my dreams now and then
On the shore of our Butterfly Stream
