Chipmunk
-- by Steve Topping Copyright 1998 -- topwheel@softcom.net

Go, You Beautiful Creature of Your Time
Beautiful, of Stature, and All Mine
To Be Cherished, and Given to Me to Tame
And Tame I Will, and Known by the Name
+ACI-Chipmunk+ACI-

A Name, I Have Chosen for My strong and noble Steed
For All Time and to Give of My Love Indeed
To Care For, and Offered to Me by the Lord up above
To Give true Meaning to the wonderful Word,
+ACI-Love.+ACI- +ACI-Chipmunk+ACI-

Early One Morning, 'Mid the Early Morning Dew
I Could See the Sun Rising, as Seen by Only a Few
The Light Shown Brilliantly, as it Peeked Its fiery Head
Over the Mountains, in a Deep Rosie Red

Standing in Wonderment, Came a Deep Glow of Remorse
As I Gazed into the Eyes, of My Beloved Old Horse
+ACI-Chipmunk+ACI-

A Snicker and a Nod, from My Strong and Noble Steed
Was the Only Thing, That I Would Need
To Carry Me on a Journey, in a Story That Will Glisten
About a Boy and Girl, to Whoever Cares to Listen

Early One Morning, on a Journey Long Ago
My Father Saddled up His Steed, and a Box of Calico
To give to a Girl Who Was Waiting, with Eyes So Sore
From Looking and Waiting, for Dads' Walk Through Her Door

+ACI-Mother,+ACI- I Know Her By, and Will Forever More
Ever since the Day Dad Walked up to her Door

Sometimes, Old +ACI-Chipmunk+ACI- and Me
Ride the Trails, and I Will See
Dad and Mom, Looking at Me as I Ride
Smiling Together as When They Walked to the Alter
Vowing That Their Marriage Would Never Falter

The Love and the Good, as They Walk Hand in Hand
Smiling and Laughing as If Saying, Yes You Can
Raise Your Loved Ones to Respect Their Fellow Man
And Teach Them to Laugh, Smile and Raise a Hand
To the Ones in Need, in this Dear Land
