Clearer And Clearer
-- by Steve Topping - Copyright 1999 -- topwheel@softcom.net

Big silver bird glistening in the sun
Coming to take our baby on a ten month run
As you get closer, we know for sure it's true
As you get closer, surely we don't blame you

All the good-byes and kisses today
Family and friends shout!! "She's on her way!!"
Be careful Dear and make sure you eat right
Oh Mother don't worry, I'll be alright

The smile on her face, a tear in her eye
Gives family and friends, a reason to cry
Thank you for coming, a smile once more
A wave of her hand, as she turns toward the door

On to the runway, as you proudly wait your turn
Glistening so bright, in the light of the early morn
There you go, as your engines begin to moan
A wave goodbye, as we stand and cry alone

Big Silver Bird, take care of our baby
As you prepare, for your early morning flight
May you fly straight and may you fly high
As you pick up speed and fly out of sight

The day will come soon, as we count the days ‘til then
When you will bring our baby back, don't know exactly when
Bring her back to this same airport door
And we will be waiting, as we did here before

The tears will flow, as they did many months before
But this time, ‘cause she walks in and not out the door
‘Can't wait, as the days get nearer and nearer
And the dark clouds, seem to get clearer and clearer
