Deep Sixing the Cliche
-- by Bob (Grandpa) Tucker -- Copyright 1996

I don’t need to use cliches,
Since I’m dancing on cloud nine.
No more chasing rainbows
As this Midas touch is fine.

It’s been an uphill battle,
With my fingers crossed, of course.
My ducks are finally in a row.
No more cart before the horse.

Beat that dog-eat-dog we live in,
Cause I’m crazy like a fox
And I’m crying as I travel
To the bank to fill my box.
