It's Different Now
-- by Bernard Gluck - Copyright 2000 -- bgluck@earthlink.net

Gravity, it seems increased
As I have gotten older
My arms and legs seem heavier
And weather's gotten colder.

It's hard to stand right up again
Soon after sitting down
And people talk more quietly
Except those kids around.

Their voices are much louder now
Than my kids were back then
I wouldn't want to do it all
Like raising kids again.

I find I need some quiet time
To think and to reflect,
To sit at my computer as
My chores I do neglect.
