Dominic
-- by Ed Shustack -- Copyright 1997 -- shu@bellatlantic.net

I only knew him for a while
This small man with the pleasant smile
Whose eyes projected loud and clear
An inner song for all to hear
Of faith and love and respect for life
Amid the gloom of everyday strife

He was a husband, father, brother, and friend
Respected and loved until the end
By all of those who knew him best
Family and friends and all the rest
Who now will miss his laughter and cheer
But hold his memory forever dear

And even though those left behind
Suffer anguish of body and mind
He would be the first to say
Live as best you can each day
See the sunshine not the gray
Until we meet again someday
