More Than Faith
-- by Gifford Wherry Copyright 1998 -- RenWa@aol.com

I know that He is out there,
`cause I've sensed His works of wonder.

I have seen the flash of lighting,
and have heard the crack of thunder.

I have stood and watched the sunrise,
o'er the mountains in the morning.

I have felt this old earth tremble,
`neath my feet with little warning.

I have scanned the sky at midnight,
with its great array of stars

I have traced the path of comets,
passing Jupiter and Mars.

I have marveled at the oceans,
with their waters deep and cold.

I have wandered through the deserts,
little changed from days of old.

I have felt the chill of winter,
and the heat of summer's sun.

I have watched determined salmon,
as they make their annual `run.

I have strolled beneath the `red woods,
those giants, straight, and tall.

I have pondered on the reasons,
for things both big and small.

There's more I could enumerate,
to prove that He exists.

Though I'm sure no matter how I tried,
there's much that would be missed.

Now, I'm not here to tout religion,
nor to urge you to repent.

But, will some ask when you are gone,
"I wonder where he went?"
