Glancing Through My Window
-- by Linda LaRae Adsitt -- Copyright 1997 -- trout@televar.com

Glancing threw my window, and just outside my door,
Two baby fawns are standing, with a great big lovely doe.
In my minds eye, The steaks are stacked, deliciously up high,
Steaming chunks of venison, Oh my Oh my. Oh my.

The freezer door is open; it's just a step away,
My hands are cold and clammy, as hard as hardcore clay.
Glancing back again, orbs straight into my eyes,
Eyes big and brown and innocent and full of awesome pride.

She's teaching both her babies to eat up all my buds,
Cause winter is a coming; they must fill up their mugs.
In the end the trust she feels, while standing close on by,
Nay, never to be shattered, As I sit on down and. sigh.
