Getting Older
-- by Vance Oliphant - Copyright 2000 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

Another day dawns and I'm still around;
Thankful my health is still reasonably sound.

Occassional heartburn and a little gas;
But I woke up this morning on top of the grass.

Read the obit column...my name wasn't there;
So I can face this day without a care.

I get up each morning and greet the rising sun;
Can't let getting older interfere with my fun.

Wear glasses to read...distance vision's okay;
Cataract surgery was child's play.

My memory dails me a certain amount,
But I can still recall most things that really count.

Waist line is larger than it used to be;
If I watch my diet, it's no problem for me.

Heart's not as strong and hills make me puff,
But I can still get around...that's good enough.

Not as spry as I was, but what the heck;
Life's really not such a pain in the neck.

Old age will never be a problem of mine;
'Cause it wll always be ten years down the line.

We will never be sorry for saying kind words.
