I'm just an old country boy who talked to God today,
I told him I really didn't know how to pray.
But if it was alright, I'd just talk
And this I did, as I walked,
I said, "God although my family is small,
I sure do want to thank you for them..all".
Also, God bless our shirt-tail kin-folks too,
There ain't many.. just a few.
God help me to be a better man
As I go about my work in your land.

Please help me to help others,
And treat all people as tho they were my brothers.
God help me to love others as much as you love me
Then maybe I'll understand and be able to see --
Yes, see that life can be worth while and fun,
When you take the time to help someone.
God help me to forgive and forget
Those that caused, or threw a fit
I also want to thank you for a sound body and mind.
This, the greatest blessing a person can have.. anytime.

God you know, your kinda like the wind
I can't see you, but you seem to always be there to tend..
Yes, tend to those that are in need.
Or do you go through others to do this deed?
God please give me patients to understand
That all the things you do are not just because you can.
God let me thank you for all my good friends,
And comfort those that are sick and help 'em mend.
God we thank you for a place to sleep,
And food to eat.

Also, for clothes to wear,
And goodness only knows God, we're sure glad you care.
Well I guess I've taken a lot of your time,
Any your tired of listening to me chime.
So, God there just one more thing that I'd like to say
Before I close for this day,
Many thanks for all the things that are good,
And help me God To live my life as I should.
