Our Last Goodby
-- by Evelyn Semple -- Copyright 1997 -- eve@coshocton.com

Oh how I cried on your funeral day
I tried to stop my tears but they just wouldn't stay
The parlor was in bloom there were flowers everywhere
except for the few that were there in your hair

And dear as I touched you for the last time
Angels were singing a lost loved ones chime
My heart gently beating was mumuring low
My darling I loved you so

The parlor seemed to fade into blossoming dawn
the people were leaving but I lingered on
I pray to the lord that your soul is with him
way up above where never dim.
