Goodbye Number 18
-- by Bernard Gluck - Copyright 1999 -- bgluck@earthlink.net

She'd been with me so many years
I thought we'd never part
But last week when she started up
It damn near broke my heart.

Before Thanksgiving holidays
She hurt me every day
I knew that this can not go on
I cannot live that way!

At dinner time it was the worst
I knew she had to go
When friends would see me after that
One look and they would know.

This separation cost a lot
I knew I'd have to pay
For pulling out that molar tooth;
I'll miss her every day
