A Guitar, A Woman and the Music
-- by Chuck Pool - Copyright 1999 -- CPool71148@aol.com

With a light caressing touch upon
The strings of her guitar
She deftly moved between the frets
To the notes within each bar

With fingers working skillfully
To a score etched in her mind
She played her own rendition of
Her heart and soul combined

Alone on a stage in a theater round
With a filtered light above
The guitar, the woman and her music
Performed as though in love

Spellbound were all of those who listened
So touched by what they heard
As the passion of the woman there
To the music was transferred

The performance ended with a song
That brought tears to every eye
It was then the woman left the stage
Without an applause or a goodbye
