Heartbreak Hotel
-- by L. B. Strawn - Copyright 1994 -- l.b.strawn@juno.com

I've heard of that place called "Heartbreak Hotel",
But have never gone there to visit.
Early, my love found a safe haven to dwell---
I don't think that's so strange!! Now is it?

That "well known" hotel causes too much sadness;
I'm not one to want to feel blue.
The Lord has blessed me with so much gladness--
Providing a wife, who is loyal and true.

And, I've heard of that place called "Lonely Street",
But, I've never wanted to go there.
My wife has made my life so complete
I have joy, overflowing, with others to share.

My heart goes out to those who have gone
To visit either infamous place,
For hasty unions are known to spawn
Lives filled with heartaches and disgrace.

"One cannot always be sure of that mate",
I'm sure that thought is found true.
With careful consideration, one can anticipate
A life filled with happiness, to ensue.

Know the traits you desire in a mate---
Then search, and be not blind.
Heartbreak, most likely wont be your fate,
But love and happiness you will find.
