Idle Hands
-- by Don Mulford - Copyright 1999 -- steldon@nbnet.nb.ca

When you're running short of money and your bank account is dry,
And you can't pay all your creditors, no matter how you try,
Don't just sit around and wonder. Now the milk is spilt, don't cry;
Get a job!

Don't borrow money to get by if you can't pay it back.
For getting deeper into debt won't keep you on the track.
You have to earn your own rewards to get the things you lack!
Find a job!

Don't imagine that a legacy will come to you one day;
Don't waste your cash on lotteries, no matter how you play.
For someone else will win it while your skies will still be gray!
Get a job!

No-one else owes you a living, you'll just have to earn your keep,
It is such a cruel, expensive world, success is never cheap,
But you'll improve your self-esteem in one enormous leap
If you get a job!

Now don't bemoan your lot in life, just seize what fate will send!
There's sure to be a rainbow waiting for you round the bend,
Maybe the pot of gold you find down at the rainbow's end,
Will be a job!
