Joy
-- by Vance Oliphant - Copyright 1999 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

Just down the road....around the bend,
Lies a world of joy, if you've time to spend.

A happy couple taking their dog for a walk;
There's a bond between them...no need to talk.

From an open window, sounds of children at play;
Their laughter ad happiness are sure to brighten the day.

A nuthatch, headfirst, descending a tree nearby.
It seems they are always inverted, except when they fly.

A hurrying rabbit hops across your path.
In a stream close by, two ducks take a bath.

On a screened in porch, kittens romp and play,
Feeling great after sleeping for most of the day.

A flash of red as a cardinal flies by;
His color in stark contrast to the bright blue sky.

Grass asparkle with the morning dew;
Get an early start...there is so much to do.

There are so many delightful things to see;
Out there for folks just like you ad me.

Until we go there, we can't comprehend,
What's just down the road..around the bend.
