Lazy Saturday
-- by Anna Mae Wittig - Copyright 2000 -- akwittig@atlantic.net

It's a lazy Saturday,
For once... no overtime,
Too hot to think of going out,
Besides.... we've not a dime.

Our younger friends don't understand,
That we are quite content,
We said we'd be alright alone,
That's exactly what we meant.

For knowing we're together,
Makes anything we do,
(A game of Upwords, popcorn,
Wine for me, a brew for you)

Seem like a Vegas niteclub,
Or a child on Christmas Eve,
A more loving evening,
Would just be make-believe.
