L. B.
-- by Herbert P Moore- Copyright 1995 -- l.b.strawn@juno.com sent from L.B. Strawn

L. and B. are just two letters,
As anyone can plainly see,
But, L. and B. are very special
And they mean a lot to me.

L.B. could stand for Long Beach,
That's a city near L.A.,
Or, perhaps a degree from college,
You've never heard of--till today.

Or, is it the great Lord Byron,
A famous poet from long ago.
Or maybe it's the Little Bear
In a nursery rhyme--you know.

L.B., for me, means Loyal Benefactor,
One I have found--both wise and true.
The one who lends a helping hand
And asks nothing back from you.

And, if I could grant one wish
To every person that I see
It would be---that all of them
Had a friend---like my L. B.
