Listen
-- by Bonnie J. Duckworth - Copyright 1990 -- earthquack@email.msn.com

This is a song I composed in 1990. Most of my poetry I have written as a song. Composed by: Bonnie J. Duckworth

Though the world is full of sadness,
filled with heartache, grief and pain,
souls are wandering in confusion,
feeling neither loss nor gain.

There is hope for your tomorrow,
and there's peace for you today,
if you just take time to listen,
time to study, time to pray.

Listen to the sounds of nature,
a symphony unsurpassed,
composed for us by the Master,
soothing us when we're downcast.

As creation's choir uplifts us,
with it's heavenly harmony,
it unfolds the Master's story,
written just for you and me.

Let Him teach you how to listen,
as He tells you of His love,
How He left His throne of glory,
and came down from heaven above.

Trust in Him, He'll not forsake you,
that is why for us He died,
to bring peace and joy and comfort,
in our hearts He will abide.

Chorus:
Listen to your Heavenly Father as He gently calls your name,
"I love you child, no matter where you roam.
I know you're tired of wandering, I know your heartaches and your fears.
Let me put my arms around you, please come home."
