Maggie Rose
-- by Ed Shustack -- Copyright 1997 -- shu@bellatlantic.net

A baby left for earth that summer morn
After all, she had a date to be born
And her Angel friends cried bitter tears
That caused a storm not seen in years
As they waved goodbye at Heaven's Gate
Lord, please don't let her be late

For the meeting with her Mom and Dad
Two people that would be very glad
To welcome her and all her charms
And wrap her in their loving arms
As soon as she arrived that night
Aboard God's heavenly non-stop flight

And when she appeared, she was traveling light
For her baggage was lost somewhere in the night
But her beauty was there without a doubt
From her deep brown eyes to her smiling mouth
And as she stretched and wiggled her toes
Carol and Rick greeted Maggie Rose
