MaryJane
-- by Ellen Fair - Copyright 2000 -- ellenfair@prodigy.net

We called her Maryjane
...always chasing the dragon,
never knowing mushrooms
were not really magic.
She lived amidst bubbles
of vanishing time and
wasted youth.
They said she had a
child-like smile on her face
the day they found her...
clinging to a hand-written poem,
signed,
"Somebody's Daughter".
