Memories
-- by Alice M. Pritchett -- Copyright 1998 -- kellypritch@cstel.net

I once was young, but now am old
Could see, but now am blind,
Now I seem to wander
Often out of my mind.

I once sang sweet lullabies
Rocking my babies to sleep,
Now I don't remember their names
And I begin to weep.

I once went on picnics
Running through the grass;
Now I just sit and wait
For the lonely hours to pass.

I once knew Jesus, and I still do
I know I'm not the same,
Faces and places I have forgotten
But I'll never forget His name.
