Monuments
-- by Ellen Fair - Copyright 1999 -- fairelle@gte.net

You say our dreams have passed away
Like wounded birds have fled
You say where precious memories dwelled
Are empty dreams instead

But memories never flee, My Love
Forever they shall speak
And though you go, My Darling
In my dreams you sweetly sleep

Always I will hear your voice
For love does not depart
Our dreams have built a monument
Forever in my heart
