No Room For A Tent
-- by William G. Lyon -- Copyright 1997 -- lyon0013@inquo.net

There's No Room for a Tent, yet the ground is so bare,
Besides it's too cold, so I'll just sleep in my Camp chair.
The mice have made holes, on every foot of the ground,
As they all, just scatter and run, around and around.

There are not trees nor bushes, just holes in the ground,
When all of them are sleeping, they never make a sound.
But when all of them are awake, they just Chitter Chatter,
It sounds like a herd of elephants, as all of them Scatter.

From one hole to another, and then right back they go,
I just suppose they are all having their own Fashion Show.
So I'll just have to be content to sleep in my own Chair,
There's "No Room For A Tent" yet the ground is so bare.
