Old Age Comes At A Very Bad Time
-- by Bernard Gluck - Copyright 1999 -- bgluck@earthlink.net

Old age comes at a very bad time
While I am still so young
So many things I want to do;
So many songs unsung.

Much music I have not yet heard
And places I've not been
And people I would like to know
Before my chips cash in.

Piano practice beckons me
With music sheets galore
My fingers yearn to master them
But they are feeling sore.

My garden isn't finished yet
With many birds to feed
And plants I know I want to get
With some to start from seed.

This body that is wearing out
Is crying for more time
To see and do these joyful things
That make this life sublime.
