Old House
-- by Vance Oliphant - Copyright 1999 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

Just down the road.....around the bend,
An old house stands abandoned, nearing the end.

If that old house could talk, what tales it could tell;
What wonderful stories those walls could dispel.

Of the just married couple...life together so new.
Their love for each other, fresh as the morning dew.

Of the cry of a child on a stormy night;
The mother leaving her bed to still the fright.

Of children's laughter...games of hide and seek.
Of times of plenty...other times that were bleak.

Of winter srorms with snow piled high;
The house protecting the family with only a sigh.

Of generations passing...times beginning to change;
To this old house, that didn't seem so strange.

Sadly, all those things finally came to an end,
Just down the road....around the bend.

THERE WILL NOT BE MORE TIME TOMORROW !!!!!!
