That Old Shirt
-- by Bernard Gluck - Copyright 1999 -- bgluck@earthlink.net

I know you have a favorite shirt
You bought from L. L. Bean
But you will just not throw it out;
To make you would be mean.

A chamois shirt, I'll bet it is
And frayed around the neck,
Buttons missing here and there.
That old shirt is a wreck.

So comfy when you put it on
Your favorite one to wear
I'd bet you'ld wear it off to work
If bosses didn't care.

Your missus wants to throw it out
That's going much too far
A better use for that old rag
Is polishing the car.
