Just down the road.....around the bend,
Regarding her age, no one knows how
long,
She's seen scores of harvests and
plantings of seed;
If she could talk, what tales she could
tell;
Countless birds have nested in her crown,
Her silhouette is impressive against the
sky,
Although the blizzards of winter have
taken their toll;
She has withstood lightning, wind and
hail,
How many people have rested in her
shade?
The day will come when she can no
longer contend,
