Patience Rewarded
-- by Bernard Gluck -- Copyright 1997 -- bgluck@earthlink.net

My wife had finished shopping while I waited in the mall.
And for my patience I could break my diet.
She took me to the ice cream stand, the new one down the hall.
She said. "I think we ought to go and try it."

I said OK we're on our way; she showed me where to go.
I must admit control is what I lack.
I try to be so careful for my diet not to blow.
The clerk then said, "I see you've come right back."
