Petals
-- by Timothy L Ross -- Copyright 1996 Timross@recorder.ca

This is a poem I wrote, inspired by a day filled with joy, peace and longing for a special friend that has chosen not to be in my life, she has never seen this poem that I have personally dedicated to her. I hope it makes each reader think about there life.

Did the petals blow away?
I wondered this very day?
Dancing to and fro, candle light were did they go?
Through the air, so soft, pink and white
Here we sit each one alone
Enjoying the beauty of this day
Pondering, wondering, did I take the time today?

Everywere I went oh the joy I spent
Totalled up, summed quite a day
Answered prayers
Lovely day, filled with peace
Sadness, yes, that we know
But joy we seek, its fragrence sows
Laughter, tears, sunshine and rain
Onward we go.

Where were the flowers, the blossoms dancing to and fro?
Another day has come and gone
We are able would you choose?
A simple thought, a pleasant break, I hope you stopped?
Yes, I did, I smelled the roses of this day,
before the petals blew away.
