Pigs CAN Fly
-- by Vance Oliphant - Copyright 2000 -- vanlorol@webtv.net

Faithfully, I fill the bird feeder every morn,
With sunflower, millet and a little cracked corn.

Birds, showing their intestinal fortitude,
Lurk in the bushes awaiting the food.

Sparrows, grackles and chickadees, too;
Along with bluejays and blackbirds, to name a few.

They attack it with fury....I watch it go down.
Is this the only feeder in town?

By nightfall it's empty...the food is all gone;
But those raiders will return at the crack of dawn.

Witness this spectacle and I'm sure you'll see why,
I'm absolutely certain that pigs CAN fly.
