Pride -- by Earl W.
Shollenberger Copyright 1992 -- magoo@epix.net"@epix.net
((While driving into our village, past its neat "row-houses, I noticed
several pink balloons hanging from a porch - and a crude piece of
cardboard with barely visible words crayoned on it. But it expressed
its message more effectively than a grand billboard. I wrote this for
our local newsplaper.
Cute))!!!
It was just a piece of cardboard on a porch along the street.
Three words were scrawled upon it - not real fancy - not real neat.
So WHY was I excited, and drove back to take another look? . . .
And drove home to get my camera for that photograph I took?
Grandeur is soon forgotten . . . so, too, is worldly pleasure -
It's the LITTLE things - small MEMORIES that we all hold and treasure.
Remember those pink balloons - how folks smiled and shared your pride!
Love THOSE three words FOREVER! The proud words that you inscribed!
{The words spelled down the LEFT HAND side)!
