I'm Proud To Be An American -- by Don Forse - Copyright 1998 -- donforse@email.msn.com
America, the land of the brave and the free
America, where men and woman are free to worship as they choose
To search in the pursuit of happiness as they will
A land with God as her leader has grown to be the proudest nation of the world
But now, there are those who teach there is no need for God anymore
Pray is denied in our public schools
Our National Anthem can no longer be recited in some places
Why? Because God is mentioned in the third stanza
The atheist have been loosed
Loosed to destroy the minds and souls of our youth
There are cries for freedom
Freedom to brake those laws they choose to disobey
Was this what Abraham Lincoln had in mind when he said
"Stand with anyone that stands right
Stand with him while he is right
And part with him when he goes wrong
Let not him who is homeless pull down the house of another
But let him labor diligently and build one for himself"
Yes this is America
The land of the brave and the free
And I am proud to be an American
Proud that I still get a little tear in my eye when I hear our National Anthem
I am proud to feel the rushing of blood
proud to feel my heart pounding with pride as I pledge allegiance to my flag
The flag of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
GOD BLESS AMERICA
