Remembering
-- by Marvin Simon - Copyright 1999 -- marban@gate.net

Ralston gave us the Wrangler and Tom Mix
With his horse Tony doing some neat tricks

Then Wheaties, the breakfast of a champion
Made my body feel as strong as iron

I ate these cereals, though I hated the taste
Didn't want Mom to know the money she'd waste

I needed the box tops for the many prizes
Couldn't wait to see inside full of surprises

That's how I got my first scouting knife
Knew I'd be Jim Bowie, the rest of my life

Then came my first real baseball glove
Baseball became the game that I love

Basketballs and footballs filled me with glee
I knew the sporting life was for me

Thinking of all these things
Makes nice remembering

Life plays us differently it seems
What happened to all of my dreams
