A Reunion of Angles
-- by Ed Shustack Copyright 1998 -- shu@bellatlantic.net

They say angels live in heaven
Yet we knew one here on earth
And my sister and I called her "Mom."
She loved us all of our lives
Through the good and the bad
The ups and downs
But now our "Mom" has passed away
Leaving us mired in grief
Knowing we will miss her for the rest of our days.

Yet in our minds, we can see her clearly
Standing inside Heaven's Gate
With a smile across her beautiful face
Her arms lovingly wrapped around a young man
Who has been in her daily thoughts and prayers
Since that day years ago
When he left this earth
And became an angel
He also called her "Mom."
