The River Of Life
-- by Bonnie J. Duckworth Copyright 1998 -- bonniej@gte.net

As the rivers flow unceasing to the oceans, so my love for you flows unending in my heart.
By chance our eyes met and locked as we gazed deep into the pool of our souls, yet apart.

Slowly, we drifted together, as a leaf floats gently upon a smooth flowing stream.
Our first tender touch told me all about you, no more just a stranger in my dream.

The the silken feel of water surrounds me, as you drew me close, I floated in your embrace.
The current ran deep, as softly our lips met, overflowing, tears coursd down my face.

Our love runs deep as the river still, through childrens laughter and tears, rapids and swirls.
The years bring new rivers into our life, grandchildren, a dream fulfilled as each new dawn unfurls.

Just as the rivers merge endlessly into the oceans, so also the rivers of our life must too.
The stream of life God gave us, deepens our love, as it flows to join another, as rivers do.
