- a poem by alien Captain Nelgeis Nybor

As I voyage through the universe, on my appointed rounds,
I've seen marvelous things in outer space,
And heard many wonderful sounds.
But of all the things I've experienced, nothing can compare,
To a smile on your lovely face, and the touch of your beautiful hair.
It makes my scales bristle, and sets my gills aglow.
I hope you don't mind me telling you this,
It's just something I thought you should know.

I came to Earth to destroy it you know,
But then I met you, and had to say "NO".
You made me think it's a wonderful sphere,
With forests and mountains and a clean atmosphere.
But the truth of the matter, and I know it quite well,
Earth isn’t worth a quantum torpedo to blow it to hell.
Humans are selfish and hypocritical too,
I just never told you,
'Cause I figured you knew.

What about the children you let die each day,

From malnutrition, illness, and things I'd rather not say.
And the way you spend money on weapons is lewd,
While people are homeless and go without food.
You couldn’t care less, as long as you've got TV,
Your chips and pretzels,
It's so pathetic to see.

If it weren't for you, though it'll never be said,
I ‘d have carried out my orders,
And mankind would be dead.
The detonator was set and ready to go,
But then I met you, and had to say "NO".
Believe me when I tell you it's true:
"The human race is so lucky I ran into you."

You've polluted your planet, and done it so well,
I'm worried you'll turn the galaxy into a virtual hell,
Of satellite and rocket pieces of junk,
Radioactive sludge and all kinds of gunk.
There'll be residue and garbage of a all kinds,
Like bottle caps, cigarette butts and moving message signs.
Believe me when I tell you it's true:
"The human race is so lucky I ran into you."

The worst thing that humans do, to be quite succinct,
Is forcing other species into becoming extinct.
Millions of years of evolution gone in a flash,
Just to build malls and rest your big ass.
All you care about is your new car,
What the neighbors think,
And how far up the ladder you are.
Well, soon it’ll be your turn, and it’s well overdue.
So don’t complain to me,
You have it coming to you.

As an alien from outer space, can I give you some advice:
"IT’S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT -
BUT IT MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE."

As I sit on the bridge of my space ship, in my captain's uniform,
I often think how lucky humans are,
That Robyn Lou was born.
If it weren't for you, though it'll never be said,
I’d have carried out my orders, and humanity would be dead.
The detonator were set and ready to go,
But then I met you, and had to say "NO".

As my spacecraft hurtles to a distant star,
I often think of you, although you’re far.
Although I’m an alien from outer space,
I've fallen in love with your charm and your grace.
You give me comfort when I feel blue,
And for that I thank you, Robyn Lou.

It’s time for me to leave, but before I go,
There’s something I want say, that I think you to know.
I’ve been to many worlds in the universe, it's true,
Some with fiery atmospheres, and some where everything is totally blue.
I’ve been to Alpha Centauri and the Kingdom of Zorn.
I've traveled to the end of time before you were born.
But now I’ve confirmed what I think I always knew:
No one in the universe, is as wonderful as you!

Robyn Lou, I Love You.
